The Central American Resource Center was founded by a group of Salvadoran refugees whose mission was to secure legal status for the thousands of Central Americans fleeing civil war. CARECEN is committed to meeting the direct needs of the immigrant community through direct service, and to addressing the root causes that create the need for service through advocacy and organizing. This grant supports CARECEN’s new College Head Start Program, specifically supporting the creation of a full-time program facilitator and some program expenses.
