Communities In Schools surrounds students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. CIS serves Tarrant County students who are identified by their schools as those who need assistance beyond the scope of services provided by schools in order to succeed in school and stay in school. Through counseling, coaching, agency referrals, individual and group sessions, planned activities and exercises, and developing goals contracts with the students, CIS social workers regularly meet with and assess the progress of the student toward various academic, social, and behavioral goals, to ensure the student has the support they need to remain in school and on the path toward graduation.
