World Hunger Relief, Inc.

The large majority of Baylor Fall 2016 Class’s evaluators found their $4,000 grant to World Hunger Relief to be a good decision with a good outcome, with some students designating the grant as a good decision with a bad outcome. World Hunger Relief is a Christian organization committed to the alleviation of food insecurity and malnutrition through sustainable agriculture and community development. The grant was given in order to retrofit their veggie van to be more efficient and keep the vegetables in better condition. The organization asked they asked if they could instead direct the grant to cold storage on their farm—a project which ended up having a more substantial positive impact on those they served.
