Waco Hispanic Museum

The majority, or 78%, of the Baylor Spring 2017 Class’s evaluators found their $2,500 grant to Waco Hispanic Museum to be a good decision with a good outcome due to accomplishments made with fountain renovations. Despite this, 22% of students voted that the grant was a god decision with a bad outcome because the construction did not go as far as planned. Waco Hispanic Museum’s goal is to support Hispanic culture and community in Waco. The grant went towards their project of renovating La Pila fountain. This project would help foster Hispanic pride in Waco and create a place to share Hispanic culture and stories. Some evaluators were disappointed that at the time of evaluation renovations were not finished due to unanticipated cost overruns, but the majority recognized that unexpected costs are to be expected with construction projects.
