Northway Farms

The majority, or 61%, of the Texas A&M University Spring 2019 Class found their $17,500 grant to Northway Farms to be a good decision with a bad outcome and 33% declared it to be a mistake due to the organization’s lack of communication, unclear nonprofit status, and inadequate financial stewardship. The remaining 6% believed the grant to be a good decision with a good outcome because they seemed to use the donations as promised. Northway Farms seeks to transition women and children out of homelessness and poverty. The grant was intended to expand residential housing and for the installation of a septic system. The organization stopped responding to evaluators, and it appears they have yet to spend the majority of the grant money on the intended projects. As a result, most of the evaluators regretted this grant.
