Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights (LCCR)

The Stanford Spring 2018 Class found their $20,000 grant to Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights to be a good decision with a good outcome because it provided successful immediate policy effects. LCCR is a nonprofit civil rights organization that works to protect and promote the rights of people of color, immigrants, and low-income individuals in California. Their attorney network has provided free legal representation to communities fighting racial, economic, and immigrant injustice for over 50 years. Using the grant, the organization expanded the work of their Bail Clinic and helped enact Senate Bill 318 in the California state legislature.
