Illumination Foundation

The Illumination Foundation strives to provide an interdisciplinary approach to the issue of homelessness in order to break the cycle. The grant provided was able to fund the salary of a Stabilization and Retention Case Manager who has helped increase the number of families and individuals impacted by the organization. Two-thirds of UC Irvine Winter 2017 Class’s evaluators found their $15,000 grant to Illumination Foundation to be a good decision with a good outcome because the organization gave an extremely detailed report and were able to help many people. However, 22% of the class found the grant to be a good decision with a bad outcome and 11% believe the grant was a mistake, due to uncertainty regarding the benefits of funding the cost of an employee for those they serve.
