Community Service: Waymakers

The UC Irvine Winter 2017 evaluation team found their $2,000 grant to Waymakers to be a good decision with a good outcome because the money was used very well. Waymakers is a nonprofit that provides services and shelter to at-risk youth in Orange County. They offer support, advocacy, counseling, and mentoring for young victims of crime. The grant allowed the organization to serve 55 clients in six months. It also helped buy instruments, art supplies, resources, Christmas presents, as well as field trips.
