BOMA Project

All of UT Austin’s Spring 2017 evaluators found their $15,000 grant to the BOMA Project to be a good decision with a good outcome because there were clear and direct accomplishments as a result of the donation. The BOMA Project aims to empower African women to live sustainably, have resilient families, and overcome poverty in order to make a change in their overall community. This grant supported the organization’s Rural Entrpreneur Access Project (REAP) that teaches basic business and saving skills as well as gives grants to start businesses. As a result of the grant, 69 women were able to enroll in the course and 23 business were started, which in turn supported 345 children.
